¡¡¡Pre Renovation Highline Photos - On SALE!!!
I could find nothing else on the internet of interest with regard to James Leritz's photography. The Photos however are gems of lostscape, the forgotten urban fairly land of the old highline. With it's emergent ruderal field, self organized and perfect. Maybe one day we will find a treasure like this and simply preserve it as an intact memory, unlike the sanitized and fragmented yet pragmatic symbolism of the new Highline. and Fab is offering prints for sale at a deep discount.

Re-Searching Research: The Compulsive Browse Project...
"The Compulsive Browse is a two-year research project supported by the Gail and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Institute for Studies in Canadian Art at Concordia University. The project encompasses three main areas of activity that directly involve artists, scholars, faculty and students in questioning the means and methods of “research” that are used by contemporary Canadian cultural practitioners today."
Any news regarding the February Colloquium? The Overview would help anyone looking for some intellectual or academic framework upon which to hang their art.

Quality Montana Yurts (that would work well in Michigan too!)
I'm quite enamored of Shelter Designs' 24' Eco-Yurt. In my quest for the slightest architectural footprint that can still serve as a nest while supporting a full and cultured life, I've found Yurts... With a rich legacy, hearty geometry and ease of construction, a yurt relatively portable (if you have a yak or a bike) and will stand up to the elements. Take a peek at their gallery from a recent Facebook post... HERE!
I think what most attracts me to the yurt is its rustic resemblance to the Pantheon or a Borromini Basilica. Nice oculus...

Prospective Retrospective VII: Bikeway Series Summer 2K9
bikeway summer 2k9, a set on Flickr.
These images represent the origins of Drifts, Deposits and Debris, a collaborative project between Jason Brabbs and Jake Boswell. The photographs represent the product of our spatial and intellectual exploration. The Olentangy Multi Use Trail was the site for this study between May - Sept 2009.
Sundays are for Politics, Spiritualism & Infomercials
Because it is seems the most efficient way to spoil a lovely dinner party, I tend to keep conversations about politics and spiritual beliefs within my sphere of family and close friends. Yet it seems appropriate here and now (as George Stephanopoulos and I finally begin to show our age) to openly editorialize.
Politics: Noam Chomsky channels John Dewey, "As long as we have Industrial Feudalism - that is Tyrannical private power controlling production and commerce -Democracy will be very limited. Politics will be the shadow cast over Society by Big Business."

Spirituality: I pulled the Strength Card out of the Rider Deck this morning...
What it means...
Mastery, focused inward. Force of will. Self control. The courage, confidence and persistence to follow through to the successful conclusion, in spite of difficulties. Harnessing one's own talents and strengths. May represent providing a calming influence on others. Traditionally, fortitude, patience, perseverance, endurance. Sometimes, love of animals, particularly cats.
